Why we need a Project Manager:
We are a group of Systems/DevOps engineers working as a part of a globally distributed team between Lithuania, Serbia & USA). We generally project manage ourselves. We feel that the time has come to bring someone to our team who will own IT Project Management responsibilities and will help us get more organized, more productive, and facilitate better communications and collaboration especially when working with geographically distributed peers in Serbian and USA.
Tech we use every day - are you familiar with these technologies?
As a DevOps team, we manage multiple AWS and on-prem VMware environments with more than 1k VMs (mostly Linux, some Windows). All infrastructure is provisioned via Terraform. Automation is done via Puppet. Through automation, your focus will be to ensure the performance, availability, and scalability of such infrastructure.
Environments contain apps written in Python, PHP, C++ interacting with MSSQL, Redis, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and ELK. You will be performing daily tasks and complex projects across most of the technologies mentioned above.
As a Project Manager, you will:
define and manage project plans and deliverables for the DevOps team
properly and quickly scope and prioritize requirements
facilitate planning activities
help remove blockers
measure how we perform and help us make a bigger impact
